Kennedy had it right. And you have it right, I enjoyed reading this.
The severity of the oppression is heavy upon the necks of people of color. When they try peaceful protest, the police come out in their heaviest armor carrying their most lethal weapons, to restrict where the peaceful can protest with state-sponsored violence or threats of violence.
What in God’s name do they expect. Kennedy’s quote exactly applies to this.
The nonviolent protestors don’t start the violence, the police do. Perhaps force someday may have to meet resistance on a city street that belongs not to the police but to the people.
