Unjustifiable Injustice

The woman cop is convicted of murder.
What? They found Amber Guyger guilty of murder?
What happened to justice? What could that jury have been thinking except they needed to avenge the black men wrongly killed by police?
She was neglectful. She is guilty of manslaughter. Maybe she’s not even as guilty as the partying drunk who runs over and kills someone and gets manslaughter; But she’s guilty just the same.
Sexism has always existed in the justice system but this confirms women failed in our attempts to have the same measures applied to us as men.
Amber Guyger made a stupid mistake by parking on the wrong floor and thinking Botham Jean’s apartment was hers. She should have noticed the red doormat, but she didn’t.
Cops are taught that once they are out of their police cars, off duty, and away from their coworkers, they are vulnerable. They know evil people can and have waited for them to come home.
I wonder if anything was said about cops being conditioned, like soldiers, so intensively they do not reason when confronted with perceived danger. They react.
She reacted.
She did not plan to kill anyone that night.
She was on the phone, distracted, and she should not have been. She should have had better judgement.
She opened (she thought) her door and saw a large man inside. She reacted to perceived danger and shot him.
Police aren’t taught to shoot to wound. Her reactions, once she perceived she was as in danger, (no matter how wrong she was) were those of a trained police officer. Her reaction was automatic. Those who find fault with her reaction should take it up with the country’s law enforcement academies and trainers.
But she is not guilty of murder.
That is outrageous.
All those who are judging her so harshly must be people who have never made a mistake. I envy them.
They are mostly people who have not pinned on a badge and learned to live as a target.
Many judging her and cheering for her conviction simply hate cops. All cops.
Where were her peers on that jury? Her peers are females in tough, non- traditional jobs. Where were they?
I hear people yapping their heads off about how they wouldn’t have shot anyone they found their home; But they aren’t police officers and it hasn’t happened to them. How the hell do they know?
She is guilty of being a dumbass, at least temporarily. But another officer (male) shoots a man in the back, mutiple times, as the man is retreating, and they say he just made a mistake. Right. Got it.
She is guilty of murder while some wannabe cop kills Trayvon Martin, who is innocently going to his stepdad’s place carrying some candy.
She is guilty of murder, while other cops beat a man almost to death, then kill him when they snatch him up off the ground and severe his spinal cord.
She is guilty, while another cop chokes a man to death for selling cigarettes.
She is guilty when cops pull up beside a kid with a toy gun and shot him to death.
And it goes on and on.
Her victim was a good man. Everyone hates That Botham Jean was killed. We lost all the good he would have continued to do if he’d lived longer.
His life was wrongly cut short because Amber Guyger wasn’t paying attention. She was distracted. She should pay for her inattention.
By being found guilty of manslaughter~Not murder
I’m so sad Botham Jean is gone. My heart is broken for his mother and all his family.
But she didn’t intentionally murder him and she didn’t know she was not in her apartment when she shot him. She is guilty of not paying attention to what is going on and of being distracted by a man — her married boyfriend — on the telephone. She got no sympathy from the wives on that jury from the second they learned that.
She was tired. Stressed. Just trying to get home from work. Has no one else ever been in that state?
And screwed up?
She is guilty of manslaughter. That’s the proper charge.
But from the moment she killed an innocent and beloved man, the wheels were turning to use her to show black people that there is justice when white cops kill black people.
She is a scapegoat.
Already, on the news tonight, I hear mislead people making speeches about justice finally being done for the black people who have been killed by white police officers. Uh, no. This is not that. Don’t believe it.
Amber Guyger represents ALL the cops who have wrongly taken a black person’s life. Her conviction is what our justice system is offering for all those wrongful black deaths.
It was a hell of a feat by the powers that be to label her a murderess and let her take the hatred and punishment So many of her white male counterparts deserve.
The bitter laughter you hear is mine.
Two injustices took place. First, Botham Jean was killed; Unjustly.
Secondly, Amber Guyger was guilty of manslaughter and unjustly convicted of murder.
The prosecutor went after Amber Guyer with all he had. It was his political day in the sun. He could get a white police officer convicted for killing an innocent black man. The public knows that should happen more often. I know that should happen every time a white cop kills a black person unnecessarily and unjustly.
But she’s not a hateful racist hotdawg looking for black people to harass and hurt. She wasn’t exercising illegal authority over someone because of their color.
She thought someone was waiting for her in her apartment.
That makes her wrong. Not a murderer.
But she is to pay the price for every white boy cop who unjustifiably shot a black person?
Screw that. She said she’d rather be dead herself than live with the fact that she shot and killed that fine man. I think she meant it.
He should have been able to live to a ripe old age and continue doing the good work he was doing in the world.
She should have been judged with at least as much compassion as that given the cops who unjustifiably kill for little or no reason.
People of color may someday get half a chance at fairness in this country and I pray that happens. The trends and the times are leaning that way. But this isn’t what they should be settling for. This is not enough, and it’s not even right. I hope the African American community does not settle for this.
Women are being taken Back to the bad ole times. Women are as discriminated against today as they were when I was trying to get hired on a police department in the 1970s.
But it’s worse now. There are more weapons used against us — the first one being that so many egotistical insecure men think we should not have the jobs we’re doing anyway.
And if they get a chance to figuratively knock the living shit out of us, they will. And they will like it. And they will convince the public, and sadly, some misled black people, to like it.
I’m sick of this country, this Trumpish world and the raw deal my gender gets in every situation. God help females of color. I think I’ve become a militant feminist.
We may need those again.
I hope there comes a day when we get the chance to even up with male-dominated society in which we must live. I won’t live to see it.
We’ve been slaves to men just as African Americans have been slaves to whites. I’m maybe not supposed to say that, but the It is truth.
Stupid male injustice is still visited on people of color and women every day. When do we get to write something in the Constitution? Why do we still have only a white male-created document to govern this country?
This is one instance. But this is a significant reminder we were not equal, we won’t get equal justice, and that we are scapegoats for all the evil our men have committed.
Amber Guyger is a scapegoat.
Most people don’t realize it. There should be an outcry from feminists.
That is all.
