DAWN
Oh, how I love you
Sweet beautiful dawn
With your glorious hue
Across the eastern sky
Warmly you kiss the dew
You expose, chase away
Things hidden
With glorious light of day
Filled with hope as you are
The darkness doesn’t dare
Though it’s left its mark
Deep down in my soul
Clouds collide with images stark
Surely they will take their toll
Laying awaiting the return of dark
Through the beauty of your stay
Dear hopeful energetic dawn
I miss you almost every day
Because to finally get awake
I’m always woefully too slow
Your first blush is quick to go
But you’ve left your full light
Now I know it will be alright
Though slithering dark awaits
Only just barely out of sight
Bright sun blocks the gates
To hell
For now
